Gerlinde Theunissen

"Gerlinde Theunissen is a Ph.D. candidate at the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” and the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University Konstanz. Her research revolves around political behavior, with a specific focus on neighborhoods, socio-economic groups, and the contextual factors that influence perceptions and political participation in the Global South.

In her doctoral dissertation, she combines satellite imagery and various types of spatial data with survey and administrative data to investigate how economic disparities within local environments impact citizens' attitudes and actions.

Gerlinde holds an Erasmus Mundus Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Economy, and Development from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals, the University of Rotterdam, and the Central European University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz and was a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.“
