Programs

CCIS operates a number of academic programs, fellowship opportunities and research initiatives at the forefront of comparative migration research.

These include:

  • Reimagining Refuge: California for Just Migrant Futures brings together leading UC immigration scholars, students, and organizations across California and the US-Mexico border to 1) seed a network of people forging just futures for migrants and 2) conduct an unprecedented, multi-sited, and multi-scalar analysis of the impacts of US treatment of migrants and asylum seekers, by and for California’s im/migrants.

  • The CERC Migration Exchange Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for exceptional advanced PhD students
(3rd year or later), post-doctoral fellows and early career researchers from Toronto Metropolitan University and UC San Diego to participate in a one-month research exchange.

  • Our undergraduate minor in International Migration Studies for UCSD undergraduate students is only the program of its kind in the United States.
