Aura Gonzalez

Aura Gonzalez is a doctoral student in political science at Cornell University. She is interested in migration, identity, climate change, and environmental politics. Her dissertation focuses on how perceptions of prospective climate and environmental risk influence individuals’ attitudes towards housing and migration. Her other projects focus on the long-term impacts of forced migration and support for environmental policy in India.

Prior to graduate school, Aura worked as a research assistant at Columbia University. She is a UC San Diego alum (BA, Class of 2020) and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.

Outside of academia, Aura is learning tennis and enjoys pilates, barre, figure skating, going on scenic walks, and watching film and television.
